Our legal basis: your consent
We only use your data because you agreed to it, in a separate box from the terms when you bought a ticket or registered. Each purpose below says what we use, why, and for how long.
What we use, why, and for how long
- Ticket details (name, phone, email, and for the Speaker pass your talk topic): to issue and manage your ticket and send you event updates. Kept until 6 months after the event, then deleted.
- Payment screenshot (your CliQ transfer confirmation): to check your payment. This is financial data, which the law treats as sensitive. Deleted 30 days after we approve or decline your ticket.
- Payment record (your reference, the amount and the date): kept for 5 years because tax law requires the company to keep its records. It contains no screenshot.
- MeetBattle details for each person (name, email, WhatsApp number, role, portfolio link): to place people in teams and run the competition. Kept until 6 months after the event. Teammates registered by someone else confirm by email, and details not confirmed within 7 days are deleted.
- Prize payout details (tax details and a copy of ID, if a prize requires them): collected separately and only from winners, to pay prizes. Kept for 5 years as tax law requires.
- Event photos and video: the event is photographed for general coverage. If you prefer not to appear, ask for a no-photo sticker at the door. Close-ups are used in promotion only if you ticked that box, and we stop using photos of anyone who withdraws. Kept for up to 2 years.
- News about future events: only if you ticked that box. Kept until you unsubscribe.
Who processes it for us
- Hostinger: hosts the website, stores your details and sends our emails, on servers outside Jordan.
- Google Fonts: loads the website's fonts and sees your IP address.
- CallMeBot: sends our team a short WhatsApp alert when someone buys or registers. The alert contains only a reference number, never your name or contact details.
Payment is a CliQ transfer made in your own bank app. We never see or store your card or banking login details. We do not sell your data, we do not profile you, and we do not use tracking cookies. The site keeps your unfinished form and language choice only in your own browser.
How we protect it
- The site runs over an encrypted connection (HTTPS).
- Stored details and screenshots sit in a folder the web server refuses to serve to anyone.
- Only signed-in MeetPixils team members can see them, each with a password and a role that limits what they see.
- Daily backups are kept for 30 days, then overwritten.
- If a breach could seriously affect you, we tell you within 24 hours and the authority within 72 hours.
Withdrawing consent and your rights
To withdraw consent, email hello@meetpixils.com or WhatsApp +962 79 131 9628 with your reference or the email you used. It is as easy as giving it, takes effect within 15 working days, and does not affect what we did before. If you withdraw consent for your ticket details before the event, we can no longer manage your ticket.
You can also ask to see, correct, restrict, delete or move your data, and object to how we use it, free of charge. You can complain to the Personal Data Protection Unit at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship (modee.gov.jo).
Age
Our events are for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data about anyone younger.
